Welcome to Cosmo HQ Review. This is the corner of the Internet where our team of beauty-obsessed editors share their honest, unfiltered reviews of the latest and greatest new products in skin, hair, makeup, and fragrance.
Dior has mastered the art of luxury beauty. We may not be able to splurge on saddle bags or Lady Dior, but we love indulging in luxe makeup looks like trending lip oils and coveted Backstage palettes. Once out of reach for many, Dior has made luxurious beauty more accessible with a flurry of viral products on Sephora shelves and designed for a younger audience.
Dior recently revamped its Forever Foundation line, introducing upgraded formulas for different skin types. Unlike many luxury brands that rely on a single hero base, Dior now offers several options. Forever Skin Glow Foundation is a moisturizing base with a dewy finish. Forever Skin Wear Matte Foundation for a soft-focus matte look. Get versatile coverage with the Forever Skin Multi-Use Foundation Stick.
cosmos All three were tested by our beauty team of three editors with different skin types. Here’s a complete breakdown of Dior Forever foundations, including which ones are best for each skin type.
Dior Forever Skin Glow Liquid Foundation
Foundations with skin care ingredients are no longer the exception, but rather the norm. And Dior has taken its skincare and makeup hybrid game even further with this formula that’s heaven for those with dry skin. Contains plenty of skin-friendly ingredients (including moisturizing hyaluronic acid, glycerin, peptides, niacinamide, and vitamin E) to nourish your skin while providing coverage. It also has chemical SPF protection (though it’s not enough for full protection, so be sure to layer it with your regular sunscreen). Another big advantage is that it’s a non-comedogenic formula, so it’s safe for acne-prone skin.
Cosmo Review by Beauty Assistant Editor Jasmine Hyman
“When I get ready in the morning, I usually go for a skin tone over a traditional foundation. With super dry and sensitive skin, I hate having something heavy sitting on my face all day and drying it out. But when I heard that my favorite Dior concealer (which really covers up my purple under-eye circles) would match an upgraded glowing foundation, I thought I’d take a leap of faith and give it a try.”
As soon as I blended the Forever Skin Glow Foundation, I found it wasn’t as thick and cumbersome to wear as some others. It spreads easily with either a sponge or brush, and 2 pumps can cover pigmentation and redness on the entire face. It gives a really nice dewy finish and as someone who is acne-prone, I really appreciate that it doesn’t clog my pores. This is the perfect canvas for the rare occasions when I go full glam, but I love it as a glowing base with blush and concealer. I’ve officially added this to my list of few foundations that I actually enjoy wearing on my face throughout the day. ”
Dior Forever Skin Wear Blur Matte Foundation
A matte sister to Skin Glow, this foundation is perfect for oily and acne-prone skin. It contains many of the same skin care ingredients, but leaves a smooth, shine-free finish. It also provides some SPF protection, is non-comedogenic, and provides coverage for long periods of wear.
Cosmo review by beauty editor Beth Gillette
“As the only Cosmopolitan Editor-in-Chief with glassy, oily skin, it’s become my pleasure to test matte foundations. Most formulas look amazingly smooth when applied over a hydrating serum or moisturizer, but then end up looking cakey, drying, or pilling all day long (or worse).
I immediately noticed that Dior’s Forever Skin stays velvety soft on my skin all day long. This is probably the longest lasting formula I’ve ever tested. I apply it to my skin at 8am and hardly need any touch-ups before heading out to dinner at 6pm. It doesn’t feel too heavy and effectively covers all blackheads and acne. To be honest, this is the only foundation I’ve used since I first tried it a few weeks ago. ”
Dior Forever Skin Perfect Multi-use Foundation Stick
The multi-use stick is part of the Forever line, but it’s more about convenience and versatility than skin care infusions. It contains emollients and botanical extracts to prevent skin dryness, and many users (including skin muse Hailey Bieber) blend it with milky essences and toners for a more dewy finish. Keep reading for our thoughts (spoiler alert, we love this so much that it won best stick foundation at last year’s Holy Grail Beauty Awards).
Cosmo Review by Beauty Director Lauren Balsamo
“I never leave the house without this foundation stick in my bag. It evens out my skin tone and easily blurs breakouts and blackheads on the go. Just swipe it anywhere you need coverage (usually around the nose, under the eyes, and chin) to create a fluffy foundation. Blend it in with a brush to create an airbrushed look in just a few seconds. It works beautifully on my complex skin, giving it a natural finish without being too matte or wet.
Final verdict:
Dior’s Forever Foundation line offers multiple non-comedogenic formulas to suit different skin types and makeup preferences. For a dewy finish or dry skin, the new Forever Skin Glow is perfect. For a soft-focus matte look or oily skin, choose Forever Skin Blurring Foundation. If you prefer a traditional stick or have normal or combination skin, the Forever Skin Perfect Stick is perfect for quick application and extra coverage. This line sets a new standard for luxury foundation by offering options for all skin types, rather than relying on a single “one size fits all” approach.
